HIIUNOMME is a 21-year-old artist from Germany.
Creates work centered on the nature and texture of materials themselves, and on precise handwork.
Rather than simply processing materials, HIIUNOMME seeks to understand them deeply, draw out their new possibilities, and explore how they can be transformed. HIIUNOMME says the aim is for expression, touch and structure to become one inseparable whole.
HIIUNOMME's work mainly uses fibers composed primarily of protein, such as leather, silk and wool, and gives each piece its own character by using Japanese natural dyes and tanning agents that bring depth and an airy quality to the materials.
