JIAN YE, designer.
Drawing on the roots of being half Japanese and half Chinese, the designer skillfully brings East Asian ethnic design sources into the products. The designs are characterized by an extraordinary reconstruction and a sense of play added to everyday wear.
The designer also draws strong inspiration from the costumes and battle outfits of characters in the many video games that have been a major influence from childhood to the present. That influence can be strongly felt not only in JIAN YE, of course, but also in the costume designs provided to artists including TOHJI and ESDEE KID.
The graphics for JIAN YE LABS sample a character from a famous Chinese beverage that N00B grew up with in childhood.
